A few years back I played Everquest.
The game itself is very flawed, however it introduced me to the exiting world of online gaming. For 2-3 years I have been following the development of Worlds of Warcraft. It looks like it is going to rule. I plan on collecting social assistance so i can play as much as I can physically stand!!!!
Blizzrd has always made fantastic games and I have no doubt WoW will kickass. Is anyone else planning to play this?

Re: Worlds of Warcraft
Thu, December 30, 2004 - 7:16 AMreally nice game. I have played MMORPGs for over 6 years. At first I thought the graphics were a bit cartoony, but after a day or 2 my brain ajusted and they look wonderful now. I like it because unlike most other MMOs I can solo most things in the game. I have a Hunter class wich is really good for soloing. Of course there are also areas and quests where you cant solo and need a group. The Horde vs Alliance aspect is also great. They have PVP servers and PVE, as well as RP (role playing). I play on a PVE server and am surprised that there is PVP. Huge raids take place and you can choose if you want to take place and flag yourself for pvp. Crafting is really easy to get into also.
Another thing that is kind of nice is that the time you dont spend playing isnt really lost. when you log back into the game there will be a marker on your xp bar. Until xp reaches that marker you get something like double xp to make up for the time you havent played. It is wonderful for the casual player, as I have a family and a full time job. FFXI was my last MMO and I would sit around for hours lfg while all the JP parties passed me up. I play mostly in the mornings and it sucks to be sitting around playing a game where Im sitting around.... bleh
Anyhow it has hooked me, I wonder for how long. I would definatly advise, If you like EQ type games to check it out. For me it took 3 characters and 3 weeks to finally feel comfortable and learn the areas and flow of the game.
